Starting BossMom: A Leap of Faith

I launched BossMom almost a decade ago. My son was under two, and I was pregnant with my daughter. Everyone told me I was crazy for trying to start a business and write a book at the same time. But I felt an undeniable calling to connect with moms like me—women who didn’t want to choose between raising their kids and pursuing their dreams. The truth is, I had no idea what I was doing. I just showed up, went live (when Live video was brand-new!), and kept moving forward. The biggest lesson I learned?

Clarity comes from doing. Don’t wait until you have all the answers; start, show up, and figure things out along the way. Embracing the journey was one of my first steps toward true personal growth.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned over these years is that business isn’t just about profit—it’s about growth, resilience, and human connection. Yes, I learned how to build funnels and spot trends, but those skills come and go. The real transformation has been in understanding myself and others on a deeper level. Owning a business is a journey of personal growth, filled with wins and losses, realizations and breakthroughs. This journey teaches us about the core of what matters: human connection, self-awareness, and a supportive community.

For so many women, a business isn’t just about making money; it’s about investing in ourselves. Starting a business often means facing the fears, self-doubt, and “not enoughness” that we all carry. And in that struggle, we grow. We learn more about who we are and what we’re capable of.
