When it comes to balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, Amanda Acker knows firsthand how challenging it can be. A devoted mom, business owner, and problem solver, Amanda has built a business that helps fellow mom entrepreneurs streamline their systems so they can scale without sacrificing their time, money, or sanity. Today, we’re thrilled to feature her journey, insights, and impact in the BossMom community.

Meet Amanda Acker

Amanda is based near Pittsburgh, where she lives with her husband of seven years and their blended family, including a six-month-old son, an 11-year-old daughter, and a 19-year-old son. After three years of trying, she and her husband were blessed with their youngest, completing their beautifully blended family.

Life hasn’t always been easy for Amanda—she’s seen the darker sides of life and people—but she wouldn’t change a thing. Every experience has shaped her into the person she is today. Now, she’s dedicated to helping other moms build businesses that work for them, not against them.

Amanda’s Business Journey

Amanda’s entrepreneurial journey started about eight years ago when she took the leap to become a Virtual Assistant (VA). With no clear plan or support system, she quickly became overworked and underpaid. Just eight months in, the stress became overwhelming, leading her to step away and take a traditional job. While this role was a dream opportunity that taught her valuable lessons about business and self-growth, she ultimately left to spend more time with her family.

Returning to the VA world, Amanda discovered the world of Online Business Managers (OBMs) and became certified in 2020. However, with the pandemic in full force, remote work and homeschooling took priority, pushing her business to the back burner. It wasn’t until she had her youngest son in August 2024 that everything changed.

Amanda realized that working full-time—even remotely—wasn’t sustainable for her family. That’s when she made the decision to fully commit to her business, helping mom entrepreneurs simplify their businesses so they could grow without added stress.

A Day in the Life of Amanda Acker

If there’s one word that doesn’t describe Amanda’s life, it’s “typical.” Every day is a blend of family time, business tasks, and making sure she takes breaks to recharge. A self-proclaimed introvert, Amanda enjoys deep conversations but needs time to recover from social interactions. She’s also a huge FRIENDS fan and loves binge-watching a good drama series to unwind.

The Passion Behind Her Work

Amanda loves tackling tech problems—the kind that require research, organization, and creative solutions. She thrives on piecing systems together and ensuring everything works seamlessly. Her biggest win in business? Simply not giving up. Despite challenges, she continues to push forward, building a business that supports both her clients and her family.

For those considering working with Amanda, she has one piece of advice: “I’m a straight shooter—with love.” She’s honest, direct, and committed to helping her clients get unstuck in their businesses.

Balancing Business & Motherhood

One of the biggest lessons Amanda has learned as a mom entrepreneur is to embrace the “in-between moments.” She doesn’t force herself to work during traditional hours and allows for interruptions, knowing that her children will always come first. Her best tip? Give yourself grace—things won’t always go as planned, and that’s okay.
