Let’s get real for a second—life is a journey full of challenges, wins, and those amazing aha moments that change everything. This year, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible ripple effects that small actions, decisions, and connections have had on my life and business. These aren’t just buzzwords; they’re the very things that can transform how we live, work, and grow. So let’s talk about how the ripple effect can create powerful change in your world too.

The Ripple Effect of Realizing You Can’t Do It All

We’ve all bought into the myth that we need to do everything. Moms, entrepreneurs, women—we’ve convinced ourselves that juggling all the responsibilities of life, parenting, and business is a badge of honor. But here’s the truth:
We were never meant to do this alone. The ripple effect of embracing support and collaboration is profound. When you stop trying to shoulder everything, you allow others to step in and amplify your efforts. Wisdom, they say, comes through trial and error. And part of that wisdom is learning to say, “I need help.”

The Power of Permission and the Ripple Effects of Change

Sometimes, one book, movie, or conversation gives us permission to think differently—and that’s where the ripple effect begins. This year, two things completely shifted my perspective:

1. The Ripple Effect of a Game-Changing Book: Rocket Fuel

Have you read Rocket Fuel yet? If not, stop what you’re doing and grab a copy. This book helped me embrace my identity as a visionary—a big-picture thinker who thrives on creativity and connection. What it also taught me is that visionaries need integrators, the behind-the-scenes masters who turn ideas into action.
For years, I resisted hiring employees because I thought managing people meant I wasn’t truly free. But Rocket Fuel reframed everything. It helped me see that hiring an integrator would create a positive ripple effect across my business and life.
That’s when Krista Lockwood, my integrator, stepped into her role and helped me revolutionize how we operate at Boss Mom. Within 30 days, we transformed our entire model. Her ability to manage operations allowed me to focus on being the visionary I was always meant to be.
Takeaway: If you’re stuck in your business, think about where you might need an integrator to create a ripple effect of change.

2. The Ripple Effect of Letting Go: Lessons from Dune: Part Two

Yes, a sci-fi movie changed my life. In Dune: Part Two, the main character must let go of everything to step into his destiny. Watching this, I realized I needed to do the same.
This led to one of the hardest decisions of my career: shutting down the Boss Mom Facebook group. Moving our community to a more intentional, paid space (Boss Mom+) was scary, but it was necessary. Letting go of something “good” allowed us to create something great.
Takeaway: Letting go of what no longer serves you can create a ripple effect that makes room for something extraordinary. What good thing might you need to release to achieve greatness?

The Ripple Effect of Relationships

Life and business are all about relationships. The people you surround yourself with can create ripple effects that shape your future. This year, two individuals stand out for the impact they’ve had on me and Boss Mom:

Krista Lockwood: My Integrator Extraordinaire

Krista’s role as my integrator has been life-changing. Her dedication and ability to handle operations gave me the freedom to focus on growing Boss Mom. Together, we’ve created a ripple effect that has strengthened our team and expanded our vision for what Boss Mom can be.

Easton Bryant: The Connector

Easton, a client turned friend, embodies the ripple effect. He introduced me to Rocket Fuel and has been an incredible source of support and inspiration. His generosity and belief in me have opened doors and created opportunities I couldn’t have imagined.
Takeaway: The ripple effect of surrounding yourself with the right people can’t be overstated. Choose relationships that inspire and uplift you.

Lessons from the Year

This year, I’ve learned some big lessons about the ripple effect:
  1. You Can’t Do It All Alone: Collaboration is the secret to growth and sustainability.
  2. Permission Is Powerful: One book, movie, or conversation can spark a ripple effect of positive change.
  3. Relationships Matter: The people you surround yourself with create ripple effects that shape your life and business.
