How Would Your Best Friend Describe You?
Marci is the master at creating community. She goes out of her way to know your name and remember something specific about you to help you move toward your goals. Whether you’re growing your business or just making friends, Marci always seems to have the next connection or action step—if you express interest in her help.
She doesn’t sugarcoat things, and we can always count on her to be a safe sounding board. What I love most about her is that she inspires you to become a better person. There’s just something about Marci Barker that makes you want to rise to the occasion, and she’s always there to guide you with love.
Meet My Family
I’m a mom to four daughters and have been married for 17 years. My husband, Aubrey, and I met in a Walmart parking lot and have been building online businesses together ever since. Originally from Utah, we decided we wanted an adventure, so we relocated to Aiken, South Carolina. We bought our house sight unseen and packed everything we could fit into two cars for the move.
Marci Barker’s Coaching Superpower
My superpower is helping people overcome resistance to aligned action. I teach my clients how to get out of their own way and take steps that align with what they know is right for them. My Accountability Code framework helps strip away thoughts and actions that don’t serve them, and I use my expertise to fill in the gaps for what they don’t yet know how to do.
What Unique Quality Do I Bring to the Table?
What sets me apart is my ability to ask the right questions with love. This gives clients both clarity and courage to take action that brings the results they want. Clients often tell me, “I can’t believe the thing I used to dread doing is now what I look forward to.” The Accountability Code makes follow-through easy and peaceful.
Who I Work Best With
I work best with clients who see themselves as capable but struggle with distractions that cloud their calendars and decisions. They value check-ins that accelerate their progress and appreciate being called out on habits that block their success.
My clients are business owners who know they can achieve more and desire to level up. They understand that 90% of the time, they’re holding themselves back, and 10% of the time, they need someone to guide them toward new strategies for the next level. Marci Barker’s approach is designed to meet these needs head-on.
Life Experiences That Shaped Me
When I started my business in 2015 as a personal trainer and nutrition coach, I knew accountability would set me apart. It’s not just about what you know—it’s about what you do. As I helped hundreds of clients reach their physical peak, I realized fitness plans alone don’t create lasting accountability across all areas of life.
During this time, I also struggled with my mental health, dealing with an abusive and manipulative father. I learned that real accountability isn’t about obeying others—it’s about aligning with your mind, body, and spirit.
While building my business and working through these challenges, I wrote my book, The Accountability Code. It established me as an expert and gave me a framework to help honest individuals follow through on what matters most to them. Now, I use it daily to keep my thoughts and actions aligned as I raise my kids and grow my business.
Life Outside of Coaching
I’m 93% extroverted, so I’m always with people! I love board games, hosting dinners with neighbors, and organizing puzzles. I started a Bunco group with friends, and we play every month.
I’m also an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as the secretary of the women’s organization. I love participating in missionary work, as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is an anchor in my life.
A Fun Fact About Marci Barker
I reward myself with Legos—but I can’t build them without the instructions! I enjoy following the intended design, and when I’m done, I pack them neatly into bags for the next time.
While I know how to have fun, I thrive on structure. My world is filled with calendars, checklists, and routines. I rarely visualize images in my mind; instead, I see words, charts, and numbers.
My Perfect Day
I use a planner I created called “How to Use My Time Well.” It guides me through five key steps:
- Make a list of things to do and people to serve.
- Pray for help, guidance, and intention.
- Prioritize tasks and stay flexible to listen to the Spirit.
- Work through the tasks.
- End the day in prayer—repent, ask for help, give thanks, and reflect.
How I Approach Challenges in Coaching
I rely on The Accountability Code to work through both goals and struggles. Here’s an example from a client making $20K a month who hired me to shift from working in her business to working on it:
- Reflection: She felt overwhelmed by her team’s performance and worried they weren’t using their potential.
- Humility: She was grateful for her team and clients but realized she needed to let go of people who didn’t align with her vision.
- Planning: She reviewed long-term plans, redefined roles, and identified who to release from her team.
- Implementing: She became more intentional with her kids, tracked expenses on a trip, and started working closely with her team to clarify expectations.
- Commitment: We meet weekly to align her actions with her goals. She launched a new webinar, hired a more aligned OBM, and is already seeing results.
- Feedback: She’s gaining leads, converting more clients, and finding more peace along the way.
What I Wish People Knew About Coaching
I wish people realized how capable they truly are. Accountability shows you how much is within your control and helps you better handle what isn’t.
Coaching isn’t about telling you what to do—it’s about guiding you to see what really matters to you and helping you get there. A great coach is honest but loving, and all areas of life improve when you hold yourself accountable to what you genuinely care about.
What I Hope Clients Say About Me
My clients call me “Your Loving Kick in the Pants.” I help them recognize what’s within their control and release what isn’t.
After working with me, they feel more confident, have a clearer business strategy, and usually gain 5-10 new business besties they stay connected with. Most importantly, once they learn The Accountability Code, they use it throughout their lives to stay aligned with their goals and values.
