Let’s just cut to the truth, you have to master your mindset to grow your business.
And I’m not just talking about confidence or good vibes. I’m talking about rewiring the actual subconscious patterns that are quietly dictating your daily decisions.
You can have the best marketing strategy, the prettiest Canva templates, and all the planners…
But if your mindset isn’t aligned, you’ll burn out, self-sabotage, and stay stuck in cycles of hustle and doubt.
So if you’ve ever felt like:
-
You’re doing all the right things, but something still isn’t clicking
-
You constantly question your decisions and your worth
-
You’re carrying everyone else’s emotional weight and it’s draining you…
Then this is the work.
In a recent conversation with my longtime friend and mindset coach extraordinaire, Dr. Shannon Irvine, we unpacked what it really means to master your mindset to grow your business—and it was pure fire.
So, let’s get into it.
What It Actually Means to Master Your Mindset
Here’s what mastering your mindset isn’t:
-
It’s not toxic positivity.
-
It’s not “just believe in yourself.”
-
It’s not writing an affirmation once and forgetting it.
As Shannon explained, 90% of your actions and decisions come from your subconscious patterns—not your conscious, strategic brain. That means you could be following all the right business blueprints but still feel stuck or inconsistent because of invisible mental scripts.
Shannon said something that hit me hard:
“Your brain is designed to keep you safe, not successful.”
Let that sit for a second.
The big dreams we have? The multi-six-figure visions? The launches, the stages, the boundaries, the restful weekends?
Your brain may actually perceive those as threats—because they’re unfamiliar.
Mastering your mindset means actively retraining your brain to see success, worth, and visibility as safe. Because right now, your brain is wired for safety—not growth.
And if you want to master your mindset, you have to rep it just like you would do reps in the gym.
This is especially important if:
-
You’re building a business while healing old stories about worth
-
You’ve been conditioned to believe being a “good mom” means self-sacrifice
-
You’ve attached your identity to your ability to overdeliver
Then you need new subconscious programming—because those patterns aren’t going to support your growth.
That’s why mastering your mindset to grow your business isn’t just a mindset “hack”… it’s a literal neurological process of reprogramming how your brain perceives what’s possible and safe.
Why Moms Especially Need Mindset Work to Grow Their Business
Let’s talk about the mental load. During our chat, Shannon and I talked a lot about the mental and emotional load of moms in business.
Shannon put it perfectly:
“Women don’t just carry their own mental load—they carry their partner’s and their children’s too. And no one ever taught us how to release it.”
We’re not just running our businesses—we’re managing the emotions of our kids, our partners, our clients, our pets… all while keeping track of whose lunch needs to be packed, what invoices haven’t been paid, and how to finally clean out the damn car.
Moms carry an invisible weight that most people don’t even see. And that’s exactly why mindset mastery isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s essential.
You cannot grow your business sustainably while mentally spiraling every day.
So if you want real growth without burnout, you must master your mindset to grow your business as a mom.
The Power of One Tiny, Consistent Change
Real Talk: My Bra Doesn’t Fit Anymore, and It’s Because I Did the Inner Work
This sounds silly, but it’s real.
I shared with Shannon during our chat that I had recently noticed my bras didn’t fit—not because I lost weight, but because my rib cage literally changed size. (I know, right?). After committing to daily breath work and brain priming, I realized something wild: My bra size had changed. My rib cage had literally shifted—not because I lost weight, but because my nervous system finally relaxed.
That’s the power of mindset mastery. When your body stops being in survival mode, your business does too.
I’ve had relationships shift, unexpected opportunities appear, stopped saying yes to things that drain me and I have reclaimed my time, my energy, my power.
That all happened when I made the choice to master my mindset to grow my business and live in alignment.
That wasn’t about fitness. It was about nervous system regulation.
Deep breathing, intentional presence, and mindset priming had physically shifted how my body holds stress.
Small habits. Big transformations.
As Shannon says:
“You micro to go macro.”
Your Old Patterns Got You Here—But They Won’t Take You There
You might have hustled your way to six figures.
But that version of you—the one who thrives in chaos, who proves her worth through overwork, who white-knuckles every launch?—she can’t take you to the next level.
She’s exhausted, on the edge, and out of alignment.
To scale with ease, you have to shift your identity. And that starts in your mind.
When you master your mindset, you:
-
Attract aligned clients with less effort
-
Raise your prices without guilt
-
Trust your own timing
-
Build systems that support rest, not just hustle
-
Create a business that fits your life—not one that takes it over
And most importantly:
You model for your kids what it looks like to be a powerful, grounded woman building on her terms.
You Don’t Need More Hustle—You Need Mental Systems
One of the biggest “aha” moments I had from our conversation was when Shannon said this:
“Mindset feels like a big, gooey marshmallow you can’t grab. But when you understand the brain, it becomes simple. You either have a network toward what you want—or you don’t.”
So how do we build that network?
We prime the brain using a technique Shannon teaches called brain priming.
Here’s the method:
-
Decide in advance who you want to be. (We call this your “I Am Her” identity.)
-
Write it down in the language of certainty—not “I want to be…” but “I am…”
-
Record it in your own voice.
-
Listen to it every morning and night.
This repetition builds new neural pathways that literally change how you think, feel, and act.
And yes, I do this. Every day. And the impact? Massive.
You Were Never Broken—You Were Just Wired That Way
Shannon said it best:
“You don’t need to fix yourself. You need to release what doesn’t serve you.”
When you master your mindset, you stop chasing and start attracting.
You stop proving and start embodying.
You stop spiraling and start showing up with power, clarity, and calm.
That’s the energy that grows a business that feels good and does good.
That changes everything.
